Mourning Dove

Mourning Doves love backyard bird feeders! They enjoy a variety of seeds including sunflowers, millet, and milo seeds. They also like cracked corn.

Description:

  • Gray-brown overall with buffy-tan underneath. 

  • Black spots on the wings and black-bordered white tips to the tail feathers.

  • Small dark bill.

  • Long pointed tail. 


Food:

  • Seeds, forages on the ground. 


Habitat:

  • Prefers open woodlands.


Preferred Nest:

  • Nests in trees.
