Charleston Birding Tour (Private)

Tour Description

Join us for a private bird watching experience exploring Charleston’s top birding locations with Holy City Birding. Each tour is thoughtfully planned based on the season, weather, and recent bird activity to give you the best possible experience. Each private tour is customized to your goals, whether you’re a beginner, visiting birder, or looking for specific species. Charleston’s diverse habitats support an incredible variety of birds, from Painted Buntings and Roseate Spoonbills to shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, and more. This private birding experience lasts approximately 2 hours. We will explore one or more locations depending on conditions and bird activity to maximize your time in the field. Your guide will have a spotting scope, and binoculars are recommended for each participant. (Vortex binoculars are available to rent.) Items to wear/bring: comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water, and a camera if desired. Each participant will receive a Holy City Birding Bird Patch! What to Expect This is a relaxed, fully guided birding experience tailored to your group. We’ll move at a comfortable pace, stopping often to observe and identify birds while discussing behavior, habitat, and local ecology. Your guide will help spot birds, set up a spotting scope for close views, and assist with identification whether you’re brand new or more experienced. Expect a mix of walking and standing, with plenty of time for questions, photos, and learning along the way. Each tour is adjusted in real time based on conditions and bird activity to give you the best possible experience in the field.
