West Ashley Park spans over 260 acres and offers outstanding habitat for wildlife, especially birds. The park features miles of trails winding through mature woodlands, wetlands, and waterways, along with a unique wooded island that adds to its diversity.

This mix of habitats attracts a wide variety of species, including migratory and resident songbirds, woodpeckers, wading birds, and raptors. West Ashley Park is also a well-known eBird hotspot, with over 170 species recorded—making it one of Charleston’s top birding destinations.
